Safety is always of the utmost importance and is always the number one priority. If you know a child who needs help or you suspect abuse, please call the Helpline for Children at 310-1234 (you do not need an area code). A ministry social worker will answer that call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In cooperation with other government ministries, the Ministry of Children and Family Development is implementing an integrated five-pillar approach to improving outcomes for B.C.’s children emphasizing prevention, early intervention, and coordinated multi-agency program support.
